Businessman Jorge 'Corcho' Rodriguez presents his first art exhibition to Johnny Depp

Buenos Aires, November 19 (NA) – Businessman Jorge 'Corcho' Rodriguez opened his atelier to American actor Johnny Depp and his closest friends, showing them his work as a plastic artist for the first time. The event took place at the 'Little red door gallery' in Villa Crespo. 'We were very good friends, very accomplices, a great personality of Argentine culture'. Among the guests were Gaby Álvarez, Daniela Urzi, Guillermina Valdez, Concepción Blaquier, Nico Sorín, Lula Bertoldi, Julieta Ortega, Horacio Heguy, Corinne Ricard, Carlos Ott and designer and plastic artist Renata Schussheim. 'This is why we are spiritually obliged to search for utopia, that which we will surely never achieve but which keeps us awake, hungry and wild'. 'And also very grateful with my brother of a different mother, Johnny, who is also a great, great artist, from whom I always receive great inspiration every time we see each other'. Photo: Agencia NA Emotionally moved, Rodríguez also remembered the beloved cultural manager Teresa Anchorena, who recently passed away. 'For me it is very important to draw a line, one thing is to paint and another is to hang the paintings and show them'. The exhibition of Rodriguez's pictorial work is called 'On the Road'. The businessman and artist was accompanied by his wife Verónica Lozano and his daughter Antonia. Photo: Agencia NA The title of the exhibition refers to the mythical book by writer Jack Kerouac. 'They are like barriers that any artist has to overcome', said Rodríguez when inaugurating his exhibition. Then came the words of gratitude. 'On the road is the compass of this exhibition: a territory where painting, life and space narrate the same journey', explains Ascar in the introductory text of the exhibition, which had access to the Argentine News Agency. 'It proposes a journey that advances like an open book, crossing scenes that reveal the artist's restless pulse: always in motion, always in search'. Photo: Agencia NA In a text signed by Rodríguez himself, the artist explains: 'My whole life I have spent on the road, on a motorcycle, in a car, traveling with friends and many times alone, today I still do it every day'. 'As you know, he is no longer with us, but he is here inside, he was the one who accompanied me, pushed me and was like my greatest critic'. One situation is to play songs in a house, a very different one is to do it on a stage and sell tickets, right? We are all on a journey, that journey will surprise us with problems, loves, betrayals, joys and sadnesses.
